Alien Swarm is nice, but any game you may need to play with random people is best played with the minimum need of a healing class.

Alien Swarm doesn't require a Medic to win, but not having one make stuff harder.

This said, even with medics around, I prefer to use the anti-parasite Eletric Armor, just to play safe.
