My guess is that they are going to sell stuff like skins and character slots to make moneys, on top of what thy have already earned from sales and the AH cuts.

In the end, if they increase drop rates out the wazoo and make items really unique, none of us will remember or care about the old AH anyways. That's my hope.

Going with that, the reason D3 AH got so much flak was the inferiority of the loot itself, and how rare it was. D2 had some very rare items too, but duping "self fixed" the economy, so to speak - I would not be surprised if the drop rates are actually very similar in the code for both games.

I feel like I am in a small minority decrying the loss of the AH; maybe 5-10% of the player base, give or take.

Here's the thing - I played a LOT of Diablo 2. And for those of you who remember that wonderful game, you can also remember what a nightmare trading items was.

Engie has been deliciously expressive over the last three comics. I thought annoyed Engie from the last strip would be hard to top in the cuteness department, and now: dat eyebrow.

Did the letter at least end with "Oh, you also wanted offline mode and for us to available modding? Too bad..." :)

The fact that the game is just boring as hell has nothing to do with the auction house.

do people still play diablo3?

@Nathaniel Smith: Loot 2.0 is part of the same package and is meant to completely re-balance loot drops, allowing players to effectively progress without having to go to the AH for their items.
Easier said than done, of course, but at least they seem to be trying.

Thanks, but nope. I'm happy with Torchlight II. Though i DO hope they learn from mistakes and not just re-do something with so much negative feedback, like Xbone for example.

Sorry for being "that guy", but Jo,, it's "though", not "thought". Cheers.

Yeah I got one too and my first and only question is if they'll be able to balance the game properly. As I recall, I couldn't play past a certain point without buying gear from the auction house.

I'd bet anything this is a reference to the classic humor between Bugs and Daffy, and of course, Daffy being always the victim of Bug's jokes.

The only thing I notice is that they put it 6 months from now, which means 6 months of people who do exploit it trying to get every last bit out of it.
