"Diablo 3" and "game of skill" do not go together. "Game of gear", sure, but spamming shit and buying off the auction house before it died isn't skill.

Wait... Isn't Morgan supposed to be Demo-tan? Why does she have both eyes?

Don't worry, Jane. They can't mess with everything. We still have Dark Souls. =D

So I'm back for the first time in a while and the first thing I notice is no Engie. Come the fuck on bro.

I'm still a huge supporter of Engie but todays strip is pretty funny. I bet Engie's got a new job and a starter apartment right now. "Here she goes again on her owwwwnn going down the only road she's ever knoowwwwnn."
Diablo 3 was never a game about skill. It was only increasingly difficult gearchecks. You COULD technically defeat the game with non-optimal gear, but it would take a lot of time because even the best player can only do so much without proper gear. (Not to mention undodgeable attacks)
Never quite understood the hardcore players. Then again perhaps it is because I have a life outside of video games and casual is more appealing to me than wasting 16-19hrs trying to grind for one good piece of armor before having to crash because work tomorrow.

It's so true. My best friend and I hadn't played Diablo 3 in a very long time, and I never even got to 60. Fired it up when the new patch came out, and we're having so much more fun.
The drop rates might be a bit too high now, but the game is a lot more fun than it used to be.

Now my friends, thanks to that wonderful third panel, we conclude that:
@Nya-chan: I find it almost negligible, or I just don't notice as much anymore since I instantly sell/salvage anything that doesn't show green numbers on dps/toughness/healing.
Pretty fun now and you can find item improvements, even if you had relatively good equipment already. But the real min-maxing is probably still pretty time consuming. Smart loot, don't know how to feel, you only find items that are fit for your class and it takes out the fun of sharing with friends
The drop rates are probably too high now... but at least it feels fun getting good drops again. Call me a dirty casual, but at least I'm fucking playing the game again. Haven't touched it since the first month of release. Now I'm loving it. Sorry hardcores, guess this patch wasn't meant for you.
So...the worst part of loot 1.0 was that the game felt like a job.
You knew you were going to get trash drops that you sell on the AH to earn gold and buy the actual items you wanted.
Like, go outside, pick up 100 rocks and bring them to the auction house so you can get a slightly shinier rock

Back to you Jo, the other day i go back to those simple drawings you made for the tf2 arc, full of drama and tf2 topic and rants, you have come a long way, and I'm sure we are most grateful for being along the ride.
