@Nerf NOW!!: Dawngate uses a two-lane formula with four cap-able wells that slightly increase the passive money generation for your team. About two-thirds of the champs go without resource management, and item upgrades are branches instead of a giant clusterfuck of recipes.
@Frost: There are more scams in this world, my dear Frost, than are dreampt of in your exploits.
I used Eve as a good example of this, while many of the scams do not exploit bugs, they do exploit people. And it has reached the point that direct trading between players more or less ceased.
@Darius Düsener: Towers always targetting creeps first seems like a terrible watering down of aggro reset system. Also, the UI seems to be bare-boned. Where's manacost for spells, Hero's attack range, and regen information?
I felt just the same way. HotS just so random... Tanks vs mages, space marines vs orks with axes, and they should collect gold and give it to sea pirates. WTF is going on?
@tuvarkz: The Tower AI in both games has a decent system, only because you don't understand it it doesn't mean it is bad. Too few letters to explain both AIs. Heroes of the Storm still feels lore breakingly sad to me.
@Cyndia: It's not a "hard core" MOBA. I actually kinda like the concept. From what I've seen the Objective based play is far more interesting than the ganking-simulation of a typical MOBA. This is looking like CTF vs TDM. Most most MOBA are TDM.

This is Blizz.
Pimping their IP's ruthlessly is their profit model.

@Whining
Eh, whatever. MOBA's aren't just for assholes, but lots of assholes also play MOBA's. And what did anyone expect? It's BLIZZARD.
Question, can we have one about scamming people in TF2 and how Steam does nothing about it? It's reaching EvE Online proportions, but so far Steam is hiding behind their ToS.

I got to say Jo, you got some real talent. Keep it up!
What a colossal blunder, no items, no gold, no last hitting. It's so dumbed down you could play it on a mobile. I'm sensing a lot of bitterness from Blizzard over losing the lawsuit for the Dota trademark, so now they're going to throw a tantrum and take a massive dump on the genre with this.
Oh God, I thought you were kidding. I really, REALLY hoped you were kidding. Nope, saw a video. That unicorn is actually intrinsic to his freaking gameplay.
@Anonymous: na, its more complaining that there are "odd crossoveres that simply lack a consistent theme or style of any kind" and ...well....panel two.

there's a notable difference of adding "fun" stuff to "ridiculous" ones, especially if we consider the background of the game.
all that stuff would have been fine... had the blizzard games come from silly/funny origins.
also, since when was nerfnow advertised to be a serious game?
This has already been done in League of Legends. He/it is called Unicorn Hecarim.

@Shade yes it is an alpha. But people are spending real money on this alpha. So do you really think they will be removing anything that people have already spent money on?
Entrance of the Gladiators ain't playing in the background for diablo.
fix it blizzard!

Second to the self proclaimed expert beta tester and others, this is technical ALPHA,not even a closed beta, with a big glaring warning that things will and most likely change, everything is to be treated as placeholders till further notice, then you can build an opinion.

First off, sorry Jo but as a principal basing a strip on a glimpse rather than knowledge is being a little ignorant, you don't have to wait for someone to post and tell you that was a skin of diablo when you could have seen it or read about it :/
My problem with the game right now is simply that it reeks of exploitation of a brand. It was made only to grab brand dollars. I also hate the fact that the technical alpha has characters locked behind a pay wall. It's like you're paying Blizzard for the honor of playtesting their game for them.
From what I've seen, Heroes of the Storm has disappointed me. The Tower AI is worse than the one in DotA(Although the Throne attacking is indeed nice); the fact that almost all of the heroes start up as locked (but beying buayble with real money) makes me angry. Also limited modes xlvlup? dafk blizz

To be fair the unicorns are ripped directly out of Diablo 3's secret rainbow level which was put in as a joke because people kept accusing the developers of making the game too cheerful even though after it came out it was clearly Blizzard's darkest game since Diablo 2...
As someone who beta tests a lot, I gotta say that HotS is a game. It is a game wherein you do things, but you don't do them anywhere near as well as in basically every other game it's based.
Yeah it's fun and it's new, but it isn't better. Which is sad.

I got to play a few matches of Heroes of the Storm at Blizzcon, and I am surprised to say that it was actually a lot of fun. A lot of casual fun, granted, but it was fun. It will not compare to Dota or League or whatever for your HARDCORE MOBA SKILL PLAYS, but it'll be nice for an occasional match.
When I first saw John Reynor on a horse I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry. After I saw John Reynor on a Rainbow farting Unicorn, I cried. When I saw Tyrande on a direwolf, I was sure I wanted to commit suicide.
@DreyfussFrost: I'm basing it on what I saw on the gameplay video, that was my first impression.
If it is a skin, it's less bad, but until you told me, I had no way to know otherwise.
Jo, what's your opinion on Dawngate? I found that it shakes up the formula quite nicely.

Heroes of the Storm is a super casual moba, I don't think Dota or LoL players will care about it and frankly I don't think Blizzard cares about getting that audience anyway.
I don't think they're forcing it. The unicorn is a $20 cosmetic item. Kaiju Diablo is also a skin, available only for real money, with no effect on gameplay. Blizzard is providing the option to be silly, but there are also badass skins like Mecha Tassadar, Infested Tychus, and Vampire Hunter Valla.
