I haven't tried FTL yet, but living ships and fighters does sound awesome. That should be a mod at least.
Also humans should be more remarkable in something. It really isn't fair that we have nothing positive. Maybe a random assigned plus stat for each human? That would be neat.

I think the popular bet is that humans are pretty darned ruthless, but evolved human-intellect-level Chimps would actually be significantly worse.

Scientists believe the reason they have black around their irises is so other chimps can't tell what they are looking at. Humans are believed to have white for the opposite reason

Chimps, dolphins, elephants... Maybe the only peacefull ones are bonobos and pistacideos, and I'm sure about the former.

That's certainly how I play them. If they're not in the teleporters, they oversee the nerds and maybe work the doors or something easy.
