I dunno, I thought that the sword tree in the Witcher 2 wasn't all that great. I leveled it close to halfway, just enough to get whirl and a flat hp upgrade and stuff and I was done with it. I put the majority of the rest of my points into magic so i could make better use of yrden, ingi, and quen.
I have not even touched magic tree from what I remember. Maybe a very little. And for W3, there is second type dodge and it's marvelous. Hop to the right and enemy just flyies by, landing directly ass-facing :D But they ruined skill tree... 20x5 skills and 12 slots WTF!
I don't get why people have problems with sword in Witcher 2&3. Maybe you started from Hard difficulty? Because in normal or easy it's simple. Only thing, you do not play like typical rpg... You don't run into foe and spam attack button. 2-3 attacks and dogde roll. Then light attack to get close.
@Musculus: Quen is the single most broken spell in Witcher 2. With just a few upgrades the player is functionally immortal and it can even return some of the damage dealt to the player to the enemy.
Witcher 3 at least fixed that aspect, but Igni is more powerful than ever.
Her legs are suspiciously spread apart for this to be a simple coincidence.
I don't think the pipe is the 'wet spot that needs to be fixed', if you get what i'm saying :D
Cleared Witcher2 on hard and dark mode: the way to go with the sword combat is to cast Quen before. Default dodge roll is well enough for most of the game, don't forget to use bombs they're like your spells but more spammable.
@Joe, the combat problems with the Witcher 2 have been pointed out many times by players. There is a combat mod that comes heavily recommended, if you want to try it. http://redkit.cdprojektred.com/?c=mod&m=show&p=77
Sadly Witcher 3 isn't that much better in the combat department, yet.
