@TacoMan: No, I was referring to the "Flat chested monster girls" thingy. Are there people on twitch actually dressing up like that? If suggestive clothing was banned then that certainly would also get banned right?
I wonder why, instead of completely reworking warsong, they didn't just change 'summon' to 'play' in it's text? Would pretty much nerf patron, but not totally destroy it.
The starving buzzard nerf, conversely, did destroy sunshine hunter (as Jo pointed out at the time). And while I'm sure combo warrior will "continue to exist" in the same way that, for instance, Malygos shaman exists, that's not necessarily relevant.
@TacoMan: You're quite right, I should be more specific: any significant nerf to an important part of a deck always destroys the deck. Eaglehorn no longer triggering on enemy secrets was an insignificant nerf to eaglehorn, and eaglehorn itself is a fairly minor part of hunter decks.
Honestly, Charge as a mechanic has always limited Blizzards design space for the whole "combat for board" philosophy they want to push, so any nerf to a card involved with Charge is going to SEEM overkill, but it's probably more healthy overall.
@Damien Stergio: In all likelyhood, Blizzard found something even more degenerate in the next set they want to release that combo'd with Warsong but not with anything else in the combo, so they nerfed it to open up design space elsewhere.
@EnragedFilia: That is not true whatsoever. Did the Eaglehorn nerf ruin facehunter? No. Did Starving Buzzard? No! Combo Warrior will continue to exist, even if it needs to find a different route to do so.
Anyone who ever wanted Patron Warrior nerfed wanted the whole deck gone, whether they admitted it or not, because in a game like Hearthstone any nerf to any part of a deck always destroys the entire deck. This is not a game where small balance changes can have small effects.
@Mr. Al: Anne-Marie has done a twitch stream and strung along a number of un-suspecting fans. But it seems that since Twitch - Dress Code (Oct, 2014) her following has dropped to an few dozen followers.
It isnt Patron the one being changed. It is Warsong Commander that is going from: "2 or less atk minios have charge" to "minions with charge have 1+ atk".
@Catkillerfive: The fact that it's not an OTK doesn't mean it's good for game health. Frothing has its own good game space, so don't hit there. Patron + Warsong is always going to be degenerate and needs to get gone. (I'd have preferred a Patron hit over Warsong, but...)
I'm very disappointed at Blizzard. We only asked for a nerf to the Warsong+Frothing combo. This change outright kills Patron Warrior, Warsong+Grim Patron was ok, we could deal with that, as it rarely lead to a 1 Turn Kill (Unlike Frothing+warsong).
