"DOnt nerf OP Decks, buff balanced decks!" Yeah, that how Power creep comes into play and soon we end up with insane stupid numbers and effects, because every new card needs to be broken enough to beat this OP combo.
And now ladder is still filled with the same old stuff, but without patron. We still have secret/face paladin, face hunter and countless other anti-fun gimmicks. What's the point anymore? Next expansion, another broken card, another broken deck, another nerf. No thanks.
TBH Warsong Commander always had one of the hottest artworks imo.

The way you draw the Warsong Commander is cute, Jo. Since this nerf basically puts her out of her job, she should totally join the cast here, looking for a better job. :D
Nonsense, this went on for a great amount of time to follow up on the ordeal that Patreon Warrior haunted the lot of us. And seeing all the Hearthstone character art in your style has been pretty great. Almost feel bad for Warsong Commander now, seeing her in that style.
Why didn't they just make it a once per turn thing?

The judge agreeing with the defendant right before the execu- err nerfing, over a matter of justice and determinism, can I buy a signed print of this, because this is art.
@Cyndia: The point is a card game cannot ever be truly Balanced. The point is you are supposed to find a seasonal meta and roll with it, not turn everything into vanilla paste. Embrace the faults a TCG has - these decks dont live long enough for counter-meta to even be established, which isn't fun
@Cyndia: You're supposed to balance the game around a "meta" for a good time, like Magic does. A meta is not a game breaking thing - its a gift to build the game on. If you have a working meta, then help cultivate it by giving the other decks advantages in that meta as well. That is how you balance.
@Cyndia: Don't be so apologist. Blizzard consistently breaks their game nearly every patch. Not Magic the Gathering levels of broken meta; yu-gi-oh levels of careless "balancing". She is actually exactly right - you're not supposed to nerf a good deck that is playable into oblivion.
I think you should add the followup. It's a fun little arc, not too long. I really like it, and I think the warsong commander is one of the prettiest chars you sketched as of late.
Oh, don't be so melodramatic. Warsong Commander had to be nerfed because it has too much of an impact on any cards Blizzard designs in the future which have 3 or less attack. Just by putting in a card like Patron they accidentally created an extremely powerful deck-type that shaped the meta. Nerf.
Registered just to say this arc was great, and it ended perfectly. Blizz has done a great job of stripping the TCG genre (and most other genres they touch) of any variety or complexity, in the name of balance. Patron was a great deck in a sea of crappy unfun nonsense, not the other way around.
