@Raxyz: Thats because that page doesn't list the 150 VGS lines every character has. Also I'm sure that heiroglyphs really give Hi-Rez a massive step forward in making a 3D model so I guess you are right there.
@Just Jacque: Yea but here's the thing. Smite already more or less knows how their gods are going to look(there's plenty of art out there of every god), dota...not so much. And not every hero that's been ported over has existed for years, some have been created from scratch since dota 2 started.
re: Star Wars - I know I'm psyched for Rogue One. Because honestly, from the trailer? It's a spy thriller Star Wars movie with minimal focus on Jedi or Sith. Which is something I didn't know I wanted until I saw the trailer.
@Raxyz: Even if it is just as hard to port (I'd argue against it, Smite has higher graphical fidelity, doesn't have a already designed if needing in balance kit, and way more voicelines) it is still many times slower.
@Just Jacque: You say it like porting is easier. Man, it's another engine, another game, another balance while maintaining the skillset and appearance people know the character for. Also, voice acting is done from scratch. So it's not so different from creating a character like Smite does.
@Wildcolt: Doesn't really change the drastically slow rate of development especially when considering Dota2 hero additions are still mostly just porting work.
@Wildcolt: Still, Dota is a year older, but even so Dota would have more characters. But there's no excuse that they've been lazing out recently. We've only had two heroes last year. 4 the year before that and 10 before that.
My point being, if this is a pattern Dota2 will end with 111~112 heroes.
Smite able to produce a brand new, fully voiced 3D hero once a month, with a patch every 2 weeks. DOta2 manages to release 3-5 heroes a year, that are already designed.
You really should try to stay consistent in these comics. I mean Gaben has gotten about 20 years younger than his earlier appearances (http://www.nerfnow.com/comic/1735).
I did play hot, I got to level 40 but it doesn't apeal to me, the lack of items, the shared xp. And the map events, it's quite a different game
I never played Lol but my frends don't play it either so I am sticking to dota
Last I heard, the reason Pit Lord hadn't been ported over is because he's broken OP and been redesigned a few times to only remain so. They're struggling to balance him. And if they go and port over something else with the pit lord name...it won't end well.
@Noam Ben Arih: "Valve sucks, game is unbalanced, and they only care about microtransactions, so I've switched to a game where an entire team gets the ult first, every map is unfairly laid out and you have to pay for skins AND heroes."
ayyy lmao
@nightarix: I didn't knew that. I was never a fan of Star Wars actually, but the Extended Universe always had some interesting stuff. I'm particularly fond of the ones written by Karen Traviss. She's one good writer.
hahahahahaha icefrogs shocking face saying "my god, pitlord" made my day
roflmaosamlxsberbglajd :)))))))) khkhkhkhkhkh
only thing i hate about last patches was that icefrog is trying to balance the game with buffing heros, instead of old rutine nerfing. this way everything just gonna go crazy but
Frankly this new Rogue One looks so much better then Episode VII is that it's not even funny. I DID think this was going to be about Boba Fett, though, which was weirdly confusing...
But hots have a way more counterpick shit in it. Some picks mean you lost right from the start if you don't have an answer. That makes pubs a stomp very often. I would say, like 1/3 is one team rapes another, just because randomcomps.
Also some heroes are generally garbage without special teamcomp.
@Noam Ben Arih: ye, because hots doesn't have evens at all.
I liked hots, too. Actually, I play it instead of dota for now. But it's not because I think it's better. It's easier and shorter, and also it doesn't have RNG. None of hero powers have RNG values in it.
Disney is planning to release a new "Star Wars Anthology movie" in December of every year from now until the end of time. They are currently casting a Han Solo trilogy and working on a Yoda trilogy.
because you get new content every 2-3 weeks
sure you need to buy the heroes, but at least they no longer make stupid pay2win events and have you useless untradble cosmetics
Valve is cancer, they don't support the game
the hero balance is shit, and they only care about skins
it's been over a decade and they still haven't ported all the heroes into the game
let alone create a brand new hero
i moved on heroes of the storm about a year ago and it was the best
You played Tf2 and you don't know why they're holding him? It's to maintain they hype, to give the players something to wait for. They'll probably release it along some fuckhuge event
@Raxyz: well Disney had declared the extended universe non-canon, the ones they don't release anyways, even though so far it's had better origin stories for characters like General Grevious(disney version: mass murdering psychopath EU version: hero of kaeesh betrayed and tricked by the separatists)
What might happen is the hardcore fans who've read/watched/played just about anything that ever had SW name on it, will complain about the milking since at some point, it'll inevitably create a plot hole with the extended universe. But those are few, so it won't really matter in the big picture.
People'll definitely fill the theaters with every new Star Wars. It's Star Wars, the "geek" frachise everyone thinks themselves nerdy for liking, y'know, 'cuz lazers.
Asfor your rant, pit lord is not one of few heroes not ported, hes the verry last hero to be ported. once his developemnt was going along with Terror Blade, but then it halted
Maybe they found something in the pit that should never be unvieled
