While I was playing today I crossed the street with my phone in my pocket and some jerk tried to make a left-hand turn and nearly hit me AND a car that was turning right behind me. I feel like I can't win no matter what I do.
Did you like the Safari Zone in Gen1, but not how you could throw rocks at the poor little Pokemon? Go is like that, but in real life. You walk around and wait for your phone to vibrate, then tap the mon you found and throw balls at it. You're really not missing much.
@Filippo Rodeo: well 2 guys fall a clift... 3 mans are attracting player to steal them... one church become a gym to lure players... i think someone crashed a car... it will be a never end joke Jo...
"Somehow I ponder if I a missing much..."
It's a mobile game, so unless you're a super diehard extreme ultra arcade edition fan of Pokemon, you're not missing anything.
@Nos Rin: At least Gen 3's internal battery didn't dry out after two or three years. That said I don't think a pokemon game's ever done worse than the previous one and gets a little bit better with every new main title. Metagame gets easier to enter, gyms get more interesting, bad guys get dorkier
Gen 3 was a step back. 1 world, no night and day, beat the elite four and you're done. However graphics were improved, combat system got a major overhaul (main thing) and, well, mainly the combat system.
Gen 2 was best but I accept up to gen 4.
Soul Silver and Heart Gold are THE best ones to play.
Don't forget they also added breeding, (and then didnt let you buy stones cause then eevees would be too easy...)(at least the two new ones didnt need the stone!) Also they added friendship based evolution, the radio, etc etc etc.
Gen 2 was the best. Period. Yes Gen 1 started it all, but all the PkMn were boring and little content. Gen 2 added night and day (and morning and evening) holding items, using the select button, you could go back to the previous island so a TON of area and the starters were actually unique.
I am definitely done with it until the the game get's patched up. There's no trading or 1x1 battles, yet. And gyms are hella glitched too. I spend 30 minutes trying to beef up and join my own team's gym and nearly that whole time it said i was too far away on the other side of the road.
You are not missing much Jo. Right now it freezes constantly. Last time I played it was freeezing 2-5 minutes. Hell it froze right when it loaded. I don't know if it's 100% the App's fault or if it's my smaller phone, but after losing a hitmonchan two nights in a row...
It's a short jump from that thinking to thinking that anyone who has any kind of accident at all deserves it. After all, nearly everything bad that has ever happened was theoretically preventable by making "perfect" choices.
Is it too cruel of me to think that maybe, if people get into accidents while chasing pictures of virtual rats on their phone, they deserve what's coming to them?
Just download the .apk and install it already, there are signed versions (exactly the same ones from the play store) available on apkmirror. When the game gets released on your country, play store will detect it and enable updates and such. It's what I did.
@Gratua Cuun: It's technically only 145 - missing every legendary and ditto (transform would be stupid in this engine anyway). According to the trailers they might be saving the legendary releases for events, and they already do plenty of events for Ingress.
Not really - the game only has the first 151 available (though suggesting there should be more than that seems to piss everyone off :P - GEN1 OR NONE!!!!! -eyerolll- ) it's glitch-ridden and outside of wandering outside like an idiot there really isn't anything you can't do in the handhelds
