Besides, comics like this speak equally towards the characters themselves as well as the players playing them. e.g. NerfNow's CM is representation of the stereotypical support player and the role in general, while Lina/Faceless represent carries.
DotA and its player base are more invested in gameplay and its meta than lore. Fewer people would get jokes and relate to the comic if Jo wrote the characters around lore rather than based on how they play in practice.
I hate people portraying CM like this. The comic and hero lore has showed that she's just as crazy a psycho-bitch as Lina. The gameplay of a hero shouldn't dictate it's personality, especially given that some heros are played as core and support roles. (Naga for example.)
@Censuur: It goes much older than that. For example, we have the sAviOr match fixing scandal even back in 2010, with StarCraft: Brood War. (which started the whole trend of great zerg players and match fixing)
Scandals are already happening all the time though, from classics like 322, substance abuse to enhance performance (Ritalin, of all things) unlicensed underage gambling, players getting fucked by their teams, it's endless.
Heh nice. Considering what happened in the lore, Rylai exploded once before their parents got absolutely terrified. Just once. It was rather impressive.
