...Holy shit, does this mean we'll see the old TF2 crew again, even if just in a brief snapshot? I miss them! I wanna see what happened with their little storylines...
I really liked Shantae, specially because of the art and the music.. the backtracking didn't even bother me.... the only thing that made me slightly concerned was the player having access to the ultimate combo of the magic tiara and the invincibility spell, since it gives you perma-invincibility.
@nightarix: That is Mangix the Brewmaster, from DotA 2. Jo doesn't really play League, which is why Gragas isn't featured here. (Though I'm actually surprised the DotA 2 cameo didn't also include Ymir the Tusk, also known to be a ferocious drinker.) That being said, I fully expect a bar brawl soon.
@Nos Rin: yep, top one is Bo-rai-cho from mortal Kombat, middle one is from either League of legends or Dota 2 i think? and of course the "scottish cyclops" from Team Fortress 2. all have a rep of being Drunkards on and off the battlefield, and presumably will bring friends.
@RPG1Player: judging by the way they let you turn powers on and off, it looks like the developers mean for you to choose your own difficulty.
Still it absolutely does not save you from the fl**** b*** level at the end.
Love the art, hate the animation. Vector joint movement is just cancer to my eyes. I get that it's damn much cheaper than frame by frame but damn it doesn't work. Like at all.
@RPG1Player: Are the art gallery keys available before the final boss or equivalent? Because I've seen things like that clearly designed for postgame that become available slightly earlier than postgame with enough exploration. The Masakados magatama from SMT3 comes to mind immediately, for instance
I enjoyed Shantae all the way up until the end when they committed design sin. The last Bubble spell is full invincibility that costs high mana per second, which is acceptable. But the reward for finding all the art gallery keys is infinite mana, which is unforgivable. That should be post game only.
An unfortunate downside of all the Shantae games sadly, they all feature a sizable pile of backtracking despite any other improvements to the games over time... :S
In the u.s.a it is actually illegal to give alcohol away for free. This is why penny beers became things at bars. Because technically a penny for a beer is paid for, and it is practically free.
