I fondly remember the time when I cheated a bunch of overpowered guns into my inventory, then went from server to server handing them out to new players.

The single and multiplayer playable characters thing is inherent to older action RPGs. It is susceptible to cheating, but it allows a bit of freedom when your friends might not always be around or your internet may be down.

Phantasy Star Online was big on this before it got hacked to death.

There are mines. It's a grenade mod. There are also grenade launchers but it's a rare shotgun mod.

Diablo 2 basically had 2 weapons: ranged weapons and melee weapons. That's it. Functionally, they all performed the same: left click something and watch until it dies.
I am a major lover of D2, but Borderlands has a strong advantage in weapon diversity.

I completely agree with FerralKross, I paid this much for nothing. Game is so short, paper thin plot, it says "bazillon" of guns but that's a total lie. I'm 100% sure that Diablo 2 has at least double of the weapons and 10 times items in total when you compare both.

I installed and played l4d today and it's seriously f*cking win.

Btw, for those of you having trouble finding people to group with, www.couchathletics.com. Join our vent, tons of people with mics willing to play. Many of us are able to host and we have a thread on the forums with gamespy IDs + hosting info.

You should come play with us sometime. Any given night we usually have 2 - 3 full teams on vent.

Actually, fun fact here. People who pirated the game can still get online and play it with you, despite being cheap and not actually BUYING it. Way to go Gearbox... Also, I don't know WHY they chose Gamespy for the Multiplayer.. I'll admit I prefer single player anyway, I like to keep all mah loot

I find that the mods to the ini files really help de-consolefy the game. My only real trouble with the game so far is the sound cutting out every once and a while. I found out how to fix it, but it's still a bit of a pain.

I got the game yesterday for the PC. Haven't gotten online working yet (I suspect peerguardian is killing the connection).

I was actually playing Borderlands on the PC yesterday, and it took forever to find someone with their ports open and someone who actually TALKS. Besides that, I found it fun running around when your other teammates are bleeding to death and I'm desperately punching the enemy with 1 HP left :D

It will release on Brazil today, really can´t wait... and yeah... feels consoled, but you can fix many things by playing with the ini files ^^

but if i had to choose between l4d2 or this, i'd choose l4d2 (one major reason because all my friends are getting l4d2 over this, donno why, i like both)

The character differences become a lot more obvious once you start getting skillmods and such. They definitely exaggerate the differences between the classes.

And you can go to the engine .ini file and mess around with the movie selections near the bottom to get it to skip them.

I... would be interested in details on these ini modifications.

Specifically, how to do them.

The idea with using your single-player character online is so that you can do drop-in, drop-out style gameplay. If you're playing single-player and a friend comes online, you can invite them right into the game you're currently playing.

Been playing this since it unlocked on Monday. Even with consolitis and me being a hardcore PC FPS player, it's really fun.

No l4d2 comic? FOR SHAME!
