offering many deckbuilding opportunities, they aren't broken, and have enough drawbacks that they won't dominate the meta like some cards we've seen previously.
So it's quick to get out. It also has a bunch of nasty synergies to play with. But it *needs* to come out quickly, because in the lategame, good though it is, you often just do not have enough puff to win the game riding on its back.
So overall, I feel the new quests, while strong and (continued)
and then there's the rogue one. The Caverns Below.
Is the kind of card you build a deck around.
With the right cards in your deck, you can have a win condition on turn 4/5 reasonably often, but it takes some careful and clever plays, and a little luck. (continued)
fits very nicely into some mage decks built around adding cards to your deck, and results in a brutal win condition (skips an enemy turn), so is probably the strongest in effect.
The warrior one is a very easy addition to any taunt deck, and gives you rag as your hero power, which is nice (cont)
as they require you to overinvest in some otherwise poor strategies. The priest one is similar, but it's a disgustingly strong addition to any n'zoth deck, so it works, and gives you what's basically a bigger, better reno jackson with taunt.
Most of the quests are sort of just new win conditions, that you can get off faster and more realiably but with some more drawbacks. They're good enough to put some serious hurt on the viability of control, but not much more than that.
The warlock and hunter ones are mediocre at best, (continued)
Having played significant amounts of hearthstone since the expansion, in both standard and wild, I'd like to talk a little about the worries with the quests being too good.
I don't think any of the quests are quite "you need this to be viable" level good. (continued above)
@Type99: Yeah but even the most popular games have problems. When those problems aren't fixed people tend to stop playing them if there are better alternatives. Currently people are finding the alternatives.
@RoderickBR: Hearthstone asked him to go play again, but another game is looking angry at him for considering it.
or
Ex girlfriend sent you a message and your current girlfriend is mad that you're talking to your ex.(Even though this is symptomatic of greater conflicts we wont go into that now)
Yennefer: She seems like a total ball buster in wild hunt and she is one in the card game too.
My favorite gwent deck is using the blue guy's siege tanks to constantly deal 1 damage every turn, then using like 5 revival cards to keep bringing them back every time someone tries to kill them.
Priest warlock and hunter in particular encourage you to overdo some detrimental cards, which can bite you in the ass if you don't have a win condition planned (or as warlock if you discarded it).
The quest cards are interesting, though I think they should have been bonus cards like C'thun was given how they can shape a deck. Rogue's is very good right now and mage's fits into freezemage easily, a lot of the others take too long to get rolling versus aggro decks.
