Dark Souls REALLY isn't that hard tho. The FIRST game you'll play will be hard because of no real guides or interaction, but otherwise most "hardcore bosses" can be cheesed hard, either by spamming attack with big swords/spells, or just becoming a tank and shielding everything (although I'm a roll p
Kojima is an insanely hardworking perfectionist who never compromises his vision for a title. That mentality has 1. produced some utter masterpieces and 2. is probably incredibly hard to work with. But for Konami to *strip his name from the final title of MGS5* was nothing but a dick move.
@The14th: Agreed. Solid 1 was just the right amount of weird. but 2 was like, what? and I cant talk about 4, never played it, barely played 3, but honestly it's a lot of convoluted mess of a story that some people will praise and get mad if you dont agree and others will see it for just a big mess.
Supposedly 4 just force feeds you the answers instead of being all convoluted and crap.
I'm really sad 5 wasn't finished though. :(
couldn't care less about the story but stealing shit with balloons? like TANKS?! HELL YA!!!
they wanted a sequel to the first game? so he just copied it.
Basically, according to the fanboys. Konami did not want to make a single sequel. Solid was it.
but they made him keep making new ones cause the fans demanded it.
the story was SHIT. Great gameplay, Shit story.
it was all worth it for that analog stick controlled katana though. SO GOOD.
But hell, they flat out said they just copied the first game, In the game.
And according to a rabid fanboy. Konami was a genious because he mocked his fans.
So. I was excited to play 2, as when I was younger a friend played it. I didnt realize I wouldn't be playing as snake. it was probably 7 years between seeing it and playing it, and I had enjoyed 1 which i had gotten years before I played 2. (i was late to the party.
Ahhhh the metal gear series. What fun. good solid gameplay but the best by a longshit was.... Twin Snakes. the remake of the first one on the GC. updated graphics and gameplay with a good story and nothing overwhelming. 3 is a close second. 5 is fun to mess around in but story? eh. 2. GARBAGE.
Everyones talking about silent hill and metal gear and here I am wishing that the latest entry of Castlevania wasn't "Pachislot Akumajō Dracula: Lords of Shadow", with erotic action...
I've never been a MGS fan myself, only played a bit of MGR:Revengeance (man that was a shitty PC port,) and otherwise don't have a ton of experience with Kojima, but yeah the way Konami treated him as he left was downright bonkers.
Don't get me wrong, I hate Konami at this point. But Kojima's obsession with Rube Goldberg levels of obtuse plots makes me a little thankful to have a break from him (and his legions of fans who look at you funny when you say you don't get it).
... MGS V was clearly a horrible project that kept swelling beyond rational levels for a game. That is why it came out with only chapter 1 really in the game and chapter 2 rushed. I think there might have been a sight that money went into a project that didn't feel like it would be completed.
As a person who is neither fan of MGS or Silent Hill I maybe a little biased about this, but I do think he is overrated. People are already coming buckets about a Game that we know nothing. Also I think Konami did everything really wrong, but there is also possible Kojima was no saint...
Kojima is overrated though (overrated =/= bad).
Overall his track record is good (MSG 1, 3 and 5 and ZotE 1 and 2) but he also was in charge of two MASSIVE piles of shit (MGS 2 and 4).
It is not only Kojima, they also kicked the team who created Silent Hill too. Basically they kicked the IP creators and milk the IPs to death with cheap games.
its inherent to their particular corperate culture and how employees (especially game creators and authors) are treated. Especially when they want to show them the way out. Its not unique to them in their country
Except the rest of the world doesnt stand for this shit anymore
Even soulless corporations should have functioning brain cells: how did they not see antagonising Kijima backfiring as a massive PR disaster?
You could spot it coming from the Moon!
Nintendo's problem is that they need to re-invent the wheel to justify making a new game that's not 2D Mario, that's why there's no F-Zero and why Metroid took so damn long. Megaman is such a blank slate they could probably go to town and make it work, at least for a while.
From what I understand, a lot of people seem to wish Nintendo owned Megaman's IP?
I'm neither a Megaman or Metroid fan, but since it's taken this long for Nintendo to even announce a new main-series metroid game, is it really reasonable to expect that they'd get MM flying right off the bat?
Y'know, I still find it super funny that they took Kojima's name off MGSV's box art when his name shows up like a hundred times in the game itself, not to mention that one staff member you can get who just IS Kojima.
