I only ever played Hellgate: London as a single player game, and loved it. In fact, I'm playing through it a second time right now.

It wasn't more of a MMO than Diablo but at least this time it will be free to play.

Also The Matrix Online aKa MxO was the best online game I've ever played. R.I.P. MxO.

Hellgate, good basic story, game-play idea but:

- AI is diappointing, inappropriate on some creatures
- Level construction is too generic
- Levels connected through portals (wished it was a London one could explore without going through generic cramped maps)
- Not enough different monsters

Auto Assault... that brings back memories... <shudder>

Never play Hellgate, but I read in Kotaku the game right is bought by a Korean company Hanbitsoft

Hellgate was never actually that bad. It just had some wonky netcode and terribly unbalanced gameplay. At its core it was good, though. It was basically just Diablo II Redux in the future.

Having played the game when it first came out, nonsub, I must say..I am intrigued...honestly who would want to revive this horrid game?

I thought Hellgate: London looked pretty bad-ass. If it really is returning, I should give it a go

Borderlands is sans bugs? I can't even play it on my graphics card for longer than half an hour or it destroys my computer. As in, it shuts off makes everything overheat and gives it trouble rebooting.

Otherwise, it plays perfectly fine.
