You know why Doomguy or Duke will never be in Smash? Because they're western characters. Snake was created by Kojima.

I think final fantasy in general has still made a mark on nintendo history, especially since they started on a nintendo console, and also I don't see how sony has any influence on Square Exix or they wouldn't let cloud be in the game at all

@Jordan Russell: Yeah, but... Final Fantasy 7 has never been released for a Nintendo console. And I feel like Sony is NOT gonna let the FF7 Remake come to the Switch cross platform.

@Thomas Stephens Solaire WOULD be amazing. Notably, if you try to scan his Amiibo, which I immediately tried when I got Smash U, it says "Not a Smash Amiibo", unlike every other one I tried. That makes me think they're reserving that slot for a Figure Player.

@Tommy Latham: The main character we saw featured in the trailer so far has an Axe so they could have a very different moveset if it's her.

I'm still betting we'll get Yet Another Fire Emblem Character from the new game. Blue haired Lord with a Sword that has all the same moves but maybe this time he has a different neutral B or something.

Personally I feel that if any out of nowhere characters are thrown in from left field it's gonna be Solaire. He even already has his own amiibo and everything.

I dunno, if Cloud can be in Smash Bros 4, and as far as I know, the only games he was in were Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Re:Coded, which is a bit of a stretch. He's more Sony than Nintendo, really...so almost anyone's up at this point.

personally it's going to be a mystery who they'll add as dlc but here's hoping for isaac in the game

@Ellis Warner snake has proven that doomguy could be in the game, just with he feel of the game I heavily doubt that nintendo would add him, it also has to be a nintendo title character (meaning on a nintendo console) or an upcoming nintendo title character (in persona's case) so duke's a no go,
