Fun fact, I'm one of the french commentators on the french restream of the GDQ. My Daikatana commentary was so liked it prompted french fans to give money for my name to appear in the speedrun of Wolf Quest later. So don't scoff at Daikatana Done Quick, it is my personnal holy grail :p
The real problems with Daikatana are not graphical or aesthetic. The game features weapons that hurt you--almost all of them except the starting weapon in each episode. The game features A.I. that is stupid--allies and enemies--and then expects you to escort it to the end of the stage to progress.
To be fair, it seems to me as The Quiet Man failed entirely on its own merits. Fallout 76 was bad and then Bethesda put the final nail in the coffin with their monetization attempts. Mighty No. 9 was lackluster on its own but died due to development issues, delays, and lack of honest communication.
ehhh, to be fair, there was a time when we all thought bad game's were good when we were younger (and didn't have standard's). I remember thinking the Sonic Adventure series was Great. Then I grew up, and realize I was duped. (as will every casual generation)
