This begs the question, why do you care Jo? Games like fortnite serve an important role in the gaming ecosystem, the kid that would be headshot teamkilling me in other games is now playing fortnite instead and we never meet eachother for the better.
It's called containment.

Fortnite was from the onset marketed towards children. I remember the time when youtube was completely full of their ads and the airship was a flying schoolbus. Though to be honest the whole idea of there being just 1 winner from 100-ish players is just wrong. Zero-sum games are never my cup of tea.
I really hate games like that because I have not the reflexes nor the patience to deal with them, making me particularly awful. If I wanted to be a disadvantaged loser, I'd just live my real life. I don't game to emulate that experience on an online platform.
