I really don't get valve on this one. Why would they even take the effort to do that? Like for real, a minimun amount of people will buy this, most will probably just follow the series on Youtube or Twitch. At best this will quench a bit of the thirst of SOME of the fans.
From what i recall, Valve said HalfLife Alyx isn't HL3 but rather something they wanted to do that also gets them back into making single player games and lets people's expectations for HL3 be more grounded in reality as opposed to what it would be prior to HL Alyx.
Definitely with Morgan on this one. Why would I plunk down $400-$1000 to buy hardware for a game that isn't even the sequel I *actually* wanted? Hard pass. Can't justify spending that much to play one game, especially when nothing else in VR has really caught my attention.
@ Hannes: Someone may send a VR head set. Some others may send less savory things. The internet is dark like that... More intoxicated: Even temple run is fun in VR (tried with the gear vr). I’m banking on getting an Oculus Quest for now, being the first standalone gaming headset and such.
I'm definitely not seeing this as Half Life 3. To do so would assume that they were developing this game before the hardware for VR was even remotely accessible.
