I think primary use of the Marie Kondo method is to eliminate clutter. My toilet doesn't bring me joy, but I'm not throwing it out the window.

Doesn't work for every day items. If I threw out my dishes because cleaning them doesn't spark joy. Same thing for when I need to do laundry, clean my apartment, take out the trash... Well maybe that last one.
That's a stupid method, tbf. Do my (saucer, frying) pans spark joy in me? My overcoat and boots? Absolurely not. Should I throw them out? Probably not.
