explaining: Lovecraftian existential horror was based on ideas that were NEW 100+ years ago now. Not being alone in the universe, humans not being the center of the universe, there being no loving God to protect humanity from powerful evil, one story had a guy go crazy from learning aliens exist.
an eldritch god does not need to be those things, in fact defining them as only something would make them not eldritch. An eldritch being defies the rules of its universe and can have any form. Also much of the nightmare inducing just by looking at it stuff was 1920s existential horror
Invincibly stalker, only instad of shooting him until incapacitating, you feed him until he sleeps, drop a powerup, and then chases you again in the next scenario.
@David Arévalo
Only one problem with that. Kirby is the complete opposite of an eldritch god being small, cute and not nightmare inducing. Your not going to look at him and suddenly have your brain turn to fear induced jello the way you might a Shoggoth if you ran into one.
When you see the trailer, this really is everybody's first thought. Right? That this 'abandoned' city is because Kirby ate all the people and went to sleep.
