Start using your money to invest in a hideout and operations to make your ability to be an adventurer easier. Real estate, employees, mercenaries, whatever you might need. Heck, you might even want to start a criminal organization! Fun times!

Get your group to try 1st edition with Orgy rules. You'll carry thousands of gold pieces out of each dungeon, then throw a great big party with the lot of it. That's how you gained experience in the old days. The real man's gameplay loop.
I've been playing Pathfinder for about a decade. Group decided to give 5th ed a try. I've got a mid level character with a few thousand GP and nothing to spend it on. Literally. Nothing you can buy will improve my character. Makes loot pointless. In Pathfinder you can always use money to improve.

Ah loot, if I remember correctly orginal BG 1 dont have highlighting containers and this bar showing the loot on the ground. everything had to be hovered over with the mouse. When I have time for that?
Sounds like me in Fallout 4 when I don't have the settlement beacon mod installed.
Early game loot EVERY THING!!!
Mid game loot just the stuff I can sell and come back later for materials.
Late game only take whats worth it.

Ah, oceans of trash loot, a timeless rpg staple. ;)
