I've always thought of Vic and Anne as Asian by birth and French by heritage. basically their parents are (insert your choice of Asian Culture/Country of origin here) they where raised in (Insert your choice of french city here).

@Timothy Hornikel common misconception. Asians aren’t really weak to tentacles, in fact tentacles are the ones in danger near Asians, specially ones with a blade in hand. They can turn him into food in seconds.
