@TK: It's funny how you spout all that out like I -care-. Also, learn how to spell "bullshit" and "opportunity". Also also - the gaming industry itself is barely worth it these days. So why am I going to give two shits about a company that's spewing out games that are nothing new? :P

Lol you say the promotions are real? you do realise you can find most games on steam even the ones on sale , cheaper in other stores right?

Or even other things, look at Black Mesa's story. Valve had no problems with them doing hl1 source right and steam even provided it for download. It's easy to discount them doing this, but there are a handful who do this. Other stores and game companies get extremely malicious and ruin lives rather

@soratayuy : I hate bulshit comments like this. Their "stuff" are the same games everyone else is selling + indie and rare titles you have difficulty finding even on online stores. And their promotions and offers are great and actually are promotions, discounts and offers. Not fake ones like most.

You freaking out about an hour or two? Did you all forgot about Germany being cut-off from Steam for almost 24 hours back in April?
I've created a list of the best comments back then. a few of of them are in German, but about 90% of them are in English and pure gold!

I love how downtimes are announced on Facebook/Twitter, but not on Steam.
Oh Valve, you silly.

@Khosan: That's a huge deal? Did you lose the work you did on the map? If not, all you had to do was find something to do for an hour, and you're on the internet, an hour goes by in a snap.

This was actually a huge deal for me :(
I was working on a map in Hammer and needed to consult the Valve docs on something, which also happened to be down. Basically kept me from actually accomplishing anything for an hour.

Bitch please, in my old neighborhood the lights would go out for days at a time (sometimes more than a week), meaning no internet, phone, games, etc. and yes I survived just fine.
P.S. This is probably why I got so into books...

32 minutes? But you have only 13 lines in the wall.
And you could always play Torchlight 2 if your internet is down. Or Di.... nah, wouldn't work.

I dunno there are like tons of singleplayer games on my backlog. (not to mention the half a terabyte various other entertainment media on my external hardrive)
That I can play in the event of a steam downtime.
And I could always read a book.

I was out last night too so missed all the fun. If I were in, I'd still be able to play the myriad other games that are in my console backlog.

1 hour is just torture...
thik of what will happen when it is down for an entire day: all those gamers have 2 options. 1. they sit and wait. 2.they go outdoors.
number 2 definitely leads to apocalypse, where number 1 is just a delayed apocalypse.
thank god not all games work with steam

Didn't even notice, must have been when I was at work. On the plus side their newest stuff is now beta. I may have to try it out but that would require work* to get going.

I find it funny how people react to the first major outage in who knows how long. "STEAM SUX LOLOLOLOL". I know plenty of services both larger and smaller (not all related to games) that have gone down for much longer.

Torchlight 2 would not have suffered from a Steam outage. Borderland 2 on the other hand... it's not only used for matchmaking, but also kick you out when Steam get mad :\

Haven't heard about it either. Good thing it was back up when I got home for some sweet Torchlight 2
