You buy a house in one of the towns, you have to pay a weekly rent fee and you can decorate your house with furniture that you buy from vendors, make yourself with Woodworking or even taxidermied boss drops like helmets.

@EnragedFilia: Actually, they started allowing people to let friends into their Mog Houses in FFXI a few years ago, for exactly that reason; what's the point of having a home if you can't invite anyone in?
And we can thank UO for setting the standards for many things, but housing in particular.
@Quinch: Didn't UO have some sort of housing even earlier than that? I never played it or anything.
I did play FFXI for years, and what they had was more "room decoration", which wasn't real popular because there was no way for other players to see it ingame.
I can think of two other MMORPGs that implemented housing - FFXI, way, way back in the day, and City of Heroes. I'm pretty sure there have been others too...

So it's cool to see that you can level your character in Wildstar by, say, building things or exploring. That's another thing I miss about Galaxies.
One of the things about Star Wars Galaxies that was always cool and that never got ruined (like so many other things in that game) was player towns and player housing. So seeing that these things are in Wildstar really makes me want to try it. It's a bit expensive for me right now, though.
Well of course Morgan is going to be popular. She's practically the embodiment of the internet. Kindness and Schadenfreude combined into one devious package. Still prefer Engie myself though.
Is it odd that Wildstar is giving me(good) flashbacks to EQ2? I've only watched videos of it so far(computer can't run it, far as I know), but the housing looks very fun(though this is coming from someone who had a max level carpenter in EQ2) :)
