I would get Lasik, but for the fact that my eyes have the opposite problem; lasering away material would leave me even more blind. The solution, as I understand it, is ocular implants.
So I'm just going to stay with glasses until my Science lab finishes the Covert Ops center :3
How can people hate glasses? That doesn't even begin to make sense to me. I love megane, and that is as someone who is a glasses wearing person (and has been for the past 20 years). Also, I am with you on being terrified of Lasik. "You're gonna do WHAT to my cornea?!"
Have to agree with other people using common sense here. With the rules she's set for herself, she might as well use contacts. My sister uses 'em sometimes and switches back to glasses when they start to hurt. If Angie does the same, it could please those who like the glasses and those who don't.
eeeevvvviiiill doctors?
what kind of dirt-eating goat-fucking tribesman actually types that? Should we ask it about vaccination, too?

LASIK isn't a cure for myopia, it's a kludge. LASIK changes the curvature of the eye by cutting off thin layer of cornea. It's like contact lenses but permanent.
I don't understand why somebody would let evil doctors cut parts of their eyes if it doesn't even stop myopia from developing further.
Do the diligence: can you afford it, how long would it take to recover, is there a local place that doesn't come with a dozen google search for complaints and mistakes, etc etc.
And get yo' shit fixed.
Don't be a pussy.
There's nothing special about you that'll make a lasik operation any more likely to fail than it would for anyone -not to say that NN ain't cool, but when people crap themselves about routine medical work possibly going wrong they're indulging in a kind of protective narcissism.

WHY THE HELL IS SHE IN A WORK ZONE WITHOUT WEARING SAFETY GLASSES!?
She really should get a pair of prescription safety glasses.
She is an engineer. She should know the value of good safety glasses - unless she secretly wants to become a cyclops?

I wear glasses, but I'm fine with the idea of getting laser eye surgery.
Don't need glasses to see my monitor at the moment, why would I want LASIK and be forced into reading glasses a couple decades earlier than otherwise necessary? Just seems like such a poor trade off. Plus, it can go wrong ... no matter how you slice it :p
Ouch, even with a helmet on, that's gotta hurt. Anyways, glasses.. like anything else you can wear, it's all about how the style matches with that person's. Angie could get away just fine with some IF she gets some which look good on -her-.

Does Angie work part time under a Bond's villian or something?
@Joey Archamon: No, I might not care all that much about glasses, but I have never been a fan of long hair on Angie. I think the classic hairstyle is best.
@AlephTTM: The difference there is that glasses are notably smaller and nowhere near as much of a hinderance to the quality of living as crutches. Not to mention people do wear cosmetic glasses, and I've never heard of cosmetic crutches for anything other than illegally getting public benefits.
@Klint Izwudd: So my stance is "Angie will be sexy no matter what, but for MAXIMUM sexiness the glasses need to come off."

You get used to everything, but it doesn't make it cool. I have astigmatism (poor focus at all distances) and sometimes put on glasses to read powerpoints and kanji. I hate the fact that I can't look out of the corner of my eye and have to keep rotating my head all the time like some stupid puppy.
@Klint Izwudd: I've never said "I might date that girl if those glasses didn't make her so ugly," so to me glasses don't make people unattractive. But IMHO they do make people (including myself when I wear them) just a LITTLE BIT less attractive. (cont.)
@Lokiallen: That's the main reason I don't wear contacts every day: the disposable ones are expensive, and back when I used the non-disposable ones I didn't like having to take time to clean them after every use.
I'm kind of scared of Lasik surgery myself. Having said that, I DO think I look better without glasses than with them. So if I'm trying to make the best possible first impression on people, I'll wear contacts instead of glasses, even though it's a bit more trouble.
As for not skiing/swimming/etc, yeah, they are a pain in that respect, but there's ways to get around that. As far as engie goes, I've seen her with glasses and without, and I think she looks cute either way. But if she needs 'em, then she needs 'em.
I wouldn't say cool per se, but I do think I look better with them. And before you ask, I've been wearing them for like 18 years, so yes, I have had to wear them "extensively out of need. Haven't gotten scars, other than that time I was in a wreck and the airbag pushed them up quickly.
+1 AlephTTM
The only people who say glasses are cool is those who have never had to wear them extensively out of need.
You get these nasty scars on your nose and sometimes you get this weird feeling they slowly slide down when you're sweaty. you can't swim with them, you can't ski with them, wtf
The operation lasts 40 minutes ( both eyes ) and after that you have to keep your eyes closed totally for 24 hours ( with a bandage over your eyes ).
After that you can see crystal clear.
Sadly for me i have progressive myopia so doctors said my eye sight will drop again in like 10-15 years.
I had LASIK surgery.
It's not a Bond laser, you can't even feel anything , it's just a red light that you have to stare at for 20 minutes.
It is uncomfortable because you CAN'T close your eye for 20 minutes straight - trust me, it is very hard to do.
They got some clamps to hold it open.
A:"You've got osteoarthritis? That sucks. When will you get a new hip?"
B:"Never. I'll just keep using crutches because people say i look good with them."

There is a serious lack of glasses girls in this comic. And if you're unsure about type of glasses, what about awesome action goggles: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130602133055/shingekinokyojin/images/9/96/Hange_Zo%C3%AB_in_anime.png

It's expensive, many complications can arise after surgery (like eye infections) and it's not even necessarily a permanent fix. The surgery itself is safe though. I didn't bother, I look cleverer in glasses anyway!
I'd say don't bother unless you're half-blind at this point.
@Lokiallen: From experience, I know for a fact some peoples' eyes don't react well to contacts, in the same regard as people being allergic to certain clothing. Contacts aren't for everyone.
There are probably glasses that may look good on her, other than that contacts...engine goggles!

Why not use contacts? It might seem like a scary idea at first, but it's easy to become used to. It gets to the point where you don't even feel them at all. They are more expensive though...
Bah, who needs lasers. I was thinking of the same, doing a Lasik surgery. But I was like "Hell no! Glasses make me look cool. It makes me more awesome than those with non-glasses and I can have different styles. Those who did the Lasik surgery is missing out of being awesome".
