This looks less like "Angie can't see" and more like "Angie forgot to Engineer while working on her game." Nobody puts a carrot into a sentry gun because they have hard times seeing the carrot.
As for contacts vs glasses: Some people can't wear contacts; their eyes react badly. Also, glasses provide a humorous hook; it's much harder to make a lost contacts joke than a no glasses joke because contacts aren't something you see enough, so you have to explain the joke.
I do too, although logic makes me question why she doesn't just use contacts, like I assume she was doing before she left. Did she develop astigmatism while developing her game?
And honestly, glasses, no glasses, I don't pretty much care. Before Engie was just a NerfNow mascot and nothing more, now she is a character. I'd very much prefer this way.
You worked for it Jo, of all gaming webcomics, I don't know any other that updates just as often. The content is awesome too.
As much as I understand why you fell like thanking your readers, I also feel I need to tell that you do a job well done. Wasn't luck that brought you here. Great work!

I love you Joe but me and Engie has a dispute concerning her new eyes - I don't like it and she has it. Your call.
To be honest, I really liked Angie when she had the long hair and glasses. She looked very cute back then with her tiny little smile and it was perfect <3
Not opposed to glasses necessarily, but hated the creepy nerd type where we couldn't see her eyes. I do think the best compromise I have heard on the comments would be goggles with prescription lens.
About the glasses though. I definitely enjoy the glasses and i enjoy her without them as well. If your actually decided on maybe changing her look a tidbit then maybe go halfway and have her wear contacts and maybe reading glasses sometime. Just my 2 cents but don't feel pressured to change her.
Wait. She's an engineer, right? Goggles! Goggles with prescription lenses. She can pull them down when she needs to see and be (visual cue) smart, but still retain the glasses-less look when you're not going for cute and nerdy. Like reading glasses.
See, I thought the thin-rimmed ones were a nice compromise. A hint of the meganekko style but not as intrusive to her original design as the full hikikomori thing she had going on when programming.
my thoughts: glasses can be cute, but saying she has "contacts" in would only need a slight change in eye detail at most. also @moarices note far as i know none of the girls before the current cast had names beyond "class-tan".
Maybe she always wore contacts, but lost them at some point when she was on hiatus and couldn't afford to replace them, so she brought out her old glasses since she wasn't in the comic anyway. Glasses are the way to go, in any case.

Since when have people been hating/complaining about Angie's glasses?
Also, I want the really classic Engie: the one with a BLUE over-all-leaotard-thingie. Black isn't her colour. And huge glasses are fugly, keep them tasteful and discreet, if you HAVE to use them. but personally, as she is the engie, she should use goggles before glasses...

This makes no sense: I've had glasses since my childhood, and you don't instantly get nearsighted: If it happens "by itself", it does so over time due to age or genetic inheritance, and Angie has never needed glasses until developing her game: and such major eyesight damage from that is a urban myth
Contacts! Contact lenses. Or just do what I did, and get LASIK corrective eye surgery. It's easy, fast, and relatively cheap ($1000 per eye usually)...the only reason I couldn't drive myself home from my own LASIK session was because of the valium.
yay the return of glasses Angie please let them come back i really liked glasses long haired Angie but glasses short haired Angie could work in fact i really liked nerd Angie and would love to see her like that again
