Oh, still hurt about their choice of Call? Yeah, me too. Haven't been following the game closely since, but I've heard about the growing amounts of disappointment.
B-but Jo! At least you like that special edition with that flawless, amazing statue of Beck? I mean, just look at that face sculpting! Or how about the DLC that will be available right on release, you like that one, right??
Lemme tell ya somethin', brother. In the beginning, I was for Mighty No. 9. Capcom screwed Inafune so he was trying to get back on his feet. Great! But over time, with all the drama and idiocy, it's lost its humor and appeal and just looks like a man's sad attempt to milk cash from nostalgia.
I can't put my finger on what it is specifically, but it feels like they wanted 2d, but bought 3d graphics and went with that. Not that I'm accusing them of buying them, its just the feeling it gives. 3D in 2D games can be fine, they didn't do it fine. :P
On the subject of 2D vs 3D Megaman, I was always kinda pissed that they stopped making the Megaman X games in 2D because those sprites were gorgeous. X8 wasn't so bad, though. Still, I'd happily take more hi-res 2D games. Not everything 2D needs to look like an NES nostalgia wankfest.
Every since Mighty Number 9 was announced on Kickstarter, my reaction was kinda "take or leave, makes no difference". I'll be entirely honest though, I did NOT liked the visuals either. Anyway, I'll definitely buy it on sale. Plataformers are my kind of game.
