Here, here! I haven't been a fan of Warcraft's lore for years now. Logged in once and saw people riding around on dragons, motorcycles, flying carpets, brooms, horses, constellation things, and then dressing as pirates, ninjas, zombies... I at that point instantly realized I was too old for WoW.
Omg Joe, didn't you read any of the books from the Warcraft lore? The movie is based on them, as well as the games.
I am excited for the movie, if they do a trilogy the third movie will be Arthas, since his story as a paladin happens after the second war, and his childhood is marked by the wars.
Orrrr Just freaking wait for a trailer or teaser or something. Even if i dont play wow anymore and never cared for lore that much a movie around warcraft with the cgi they throw for every expansion ill watch becouse it's incredible.
But in all seriousness. Jo simply said he's not interested in the warcraft movie. That's what his opinion is, we can all go an watch the film without him and that's ok! Jo simply chooses not to watch it. Case close, let the poor man alone WoW fanboys!
eech! now excuse me while i raid fel citadel.
"However, I (and others) don't care about the classic"
...and others. what a very broad way to say this. I (and others) thing peanut butter is disgusting. I (and others) think Pyro is overplayed and people should play soldier instead. I (and others) think LoL is better then DOTA.
Chen was a playable party member and palled around with Rexxar during a side (but canon) campaign in Frozen Throne. It wasn't a particularly significant role, but it wasn't just a joke either.
Well Gnomes were added in Warcraft 2, Night Elves in Warcraft 3 and Pandarians in the Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne (as a joke I think), they all predate predate WOW and the Gnomes are even part of the Dos age lore.
I prefer said lore but don't hate WOW either.
Wow,keep drawing and stop talking about something you're clueless about. "New lore has gnomes and pandas",no shit,Sherlock. They already existed in old Warcraft (not WoW) lore. Casuals will be casuals.
I've disconnected myself from the warcraft universe since the release of WoW, so, rectifying my comment on the previous comic, to be honest, i can't REALLY say i don't like it... but i usually frown upon the idea of MMOs having any relevance in a series lore.
"I can't watch the Warcraft movie has anything more than another fantasy action movie"
That's what you should do with any movie first, no matter it's basis tbh - judge it as a film, and if it's enjoyable, then look at what it relates to.
Also, making blanket statements such as "no one cares about old lore" is pretty ignorant. While it's true that most players of World of Warcraft couldn't tell you anything about Goldshire and Moonbrook being sister towns or who Griselda Blackhand is, some people do care about old lore.
Hate to break it to you, Jo (no I don't), but gnomes and Pandaren are part of "classic Warcraft lore". Gnomes were introduced in Warcraft II and a single Pandaren Brewmaster (Chen Stormstout) was introduced in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
@Alex Beavuais: Umm, where did I imply that he wasn't going to watch it? Or are you automatically knee jerk assuming that? I KNOW he's going to watch it, that's why I said it.
