To the rest of you - he can't use Dead Ringer, cause it's broken. If he
had changed to Spy before entering base, he wouldn't beat the whole BLU
team. If he had changed before entering CP, he would take a respawn and
ran the whole distance again, with respawned BLU team.
TL;DR - it's impossible.

As I've said:
Engie gets rocket-raped - Checked!
Spy gets depressed,
Spy turns to engie,
Engie-spy builds a sentry on Engie's grave - Still yet to come.

I think he died, just plain died, to highlight the fact a single man cannot beat the system, no matter how much he wants to. Rest In Peace Dear Engineer.

My guess is the engineer switched classes just before entering, and now he's a deadringer spy disguised as himself.

I'm expecting the rockets from those level threes that we didn't see hit the engie teamkill the spy.

Why do I get the distinct feeling that he threw his wrench at the spy before he got gunned down? He still had it in the last comic, and in the seventh panel, that could conceivably be a throwing motion...

Little did we know that, off-camera, Engie changed to spy and just dead-ringered the crap out of that. Come in from the cold indeed!

What we don't see if the puddle of spygibs laying behind him. He may have died, but an easy nice ending for the story is he ran past the spy, getting him mowed down as well.

I had forgotten why I trusted my life to my teammate in the first place. The BLU Engineer is a valuable labourer, and he makes an excellent minion. I commend him. Almost as fine a job as my own ventures.
