@Platypus: My goal is to make it so there isn't strictly a right or wrong answer to any of the specific choices or tell the player what choices are best, but to give the princess the ability to make choices about her situation either to maximize her own safety, or to be more heroic.
@Platypus: And if you decide not to escape and let someone come to rescue you, you will play as a series of adventurers instead, and get different endings good, or bad depending on who saves you, or if they all die, a bad ending where the villain wins.
@Platypus: whether or not to steal spell books from the Wizard's castle (which give you more powerful magic, but also corrupt you and lead to bad endings if you are too corrupted), or whether to confront the wizard or go straight for the exit which is a safer route. (death/traps lead to bad endings)
@Platypus: The villain does have something to gain; he kidnapped her as part of a plot to rule the kingdom she's from. The princess isn't a McGuffin though, I hope. You play the princess and choose early on if you want to try to escape, and if so you play as her, with choices such as
@Doug Byrd: At least most Zeldas make a touch more sense as Zelda (usually) holds 1/3 of the Triforce that Ganondorf needs. Like with most GOOD storytelling it's about motivation and ramification. Do the actions taken reflect a reality. Or is the Damsel just a McGuffin?
@Doug Byrd: Depends on how you've approached it. At the core IMO is what's the motivation for the kidnap in the first place. After all, that's what Damsel in Distress usually are. What does Bowser really get from snagging Peach?
AAC is stupid fun if you like Twin Stick shooters (some androids play better on mouse and keyboard IMO) and Bullet Hells. It has lots of good game design across the range, from casual (EX options to make things easier) to score attack hard core. Sadly local machine co-op only.
Wow this plot is making me self-conscious. I just finished a mini-demo today of a game I'm working on that explores the Damsel in Distress trope and the Damsel's role in it. (Though you do play as the Damsel off the bat. So that's different.)
As Royality it's kind of her job to let other people do the job, but why the friendly/flirty tone? The princess has every right to expect others to throw their lives away just to safe her without her showing any hints of gratitude.
This game doesn't seem realistic to me so far.

Hm, any1 else who notices the dress seems to come with one heck of a chest padding? Suspicious!
she does look adorable. I don't think they're actually making a video game. I think they're just pretending they are so they can take pics of princess Morgan.
What happened to Lusty Argonian Maid? Is she living with Tentajo, minette, or at the old house or what?
