You want to cover only popular games, but from my point of view SkullGirls is quite unknown from most gamers, I actually discovered it from your comics by googling the words "Minette Beowulf" that I saw in your comics to understand what you were referencing.
Hey Jo. If we're talking about indie, how about project zomboid? I dont suggest to write a comic about it, no. It will anyway takes around 2 or 3 evenings to fully "complete" the game, but it worth trying.
For me the biggest joke about indie games is that 90% of them are 2D platformers trying to leech off nostalgia or endless early access. I would say some indies are popular especially roguelikes. I started playing Darkest Dungeon but the game is no joke. Maybe a poll ? It worked before if I'm right.
@Jo Pereira: I think it was me. Thank you for the response but I understand things about popularity and business. I don't even play TF2, Dota 2 , HS and sometimes I don't get the joke but I still check every day and stopped reading other ones because they don't progress or improve or repeat much.
@Raxyz: There is a thing called action RPG and it have been a thing for decades. Sadly it isn't very common.
RPG games can be hack and slash, platformer, strategy, turn based, etc. That's why games like Disgaea, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Legend of Mana and Fallout are all considered RPGs.
@Tk: I don't know they advertise Indivisible as an RPG. It's clearly a plataformer/hack and slash.
Then again, Dust AET did the same and it was beyond great.
It's too bad though, some indies have so much room for parodies. And oh, someone here suggested Legends of Grimrock. It's an awesome game! But I don't think it's comic fuel.
Don't be scared to play it though, one of the best RPGs I've played.
how you heard about the new game being crowd funded by the creators of skull girls? indivisible? Was wondering what people thought about it before i contributed.
Or in the words of Alek: "Only bad people hurt small kids. Are you bad people Angie?" Right now I must say, yep she is. There won't be any reconciliation soon.
@Jo Pereira: Maggie is a kid. That's what kids do. Then adults show them that doing bad things is wrong and help them understand other people's feelings better. Angie is just being a dick. If Maggie ever had a lollipop, Angie would definitely go out of her way to steal that from her.
Jo, I remember in some of your comics years back, you would sometimes give background info within the strip itself in order to help those of us out of the loop understand the joke, and they turned out fine. If you have a joke that can be briefly explained, don't be afraid to make the joke.
