Because hanging out with normals humanizes the uber-tier superheroes and helps make them seem disarming to the audience. It's the same reason Superman is such a boy scout.
if you want consistent then try http://www.schlockmercenary.com/ it has updated every single day for now going on 16 years. never missed a day, EVER. was only 3 hours late once when their computer literally died.
@Qwefg Lockheart: Don't forget the part about Cap having superhuman strength and stamina and being a seasoned soldier and trained acrobat. Though depending on the writer, he may get nerfed.

I actually have to agree with Seth McNunn. Thank you for being the one comic I can count on for actually always having new content. Thank you for that and enjoy your time off!
I have about 50 bookmarks for webcomics and you're the only one who doesn't take a vacation 2-3 times a year, and most of them only update twice a week. Enjoy your time off you've earned it / deserve it.
Hackeye had a use once... but sadly his use has kind of fell. Spiderman has wit and that unique charm/skill. Black widow has Intel, but mostly sneak into a place and open up the doors.
Captain America is... moral at best or fancy symbol at worst. Come to think of it Even Green Arrow is better.
i think he's there to be a foil, as it makes Thor look better to have a comparatively weaker teammate. as for why you would actual have him on a team? he blends in when he's not wearing the purple and blue spandex, so he can recon, essentially "mark" the bad-guys, then thor can go in and bust jaws.
It's not like they have a cap on how many people can be in the avengers, so it doesn't actually hurt to have him there. Hawkeye is capable of doing something and that's pretty much all that matters.
