@Jack Spade: Mei is countered by multiple people. What is multiple Mei countered by?
Also, you can try to argue against multiple of a single hero being effective...and I can point you to Winston, Soldier 76, Reinhardt, and Junkrat which are just insane when multiple are stacked on one team.
Or the idiot who totaly screws everyone else over, constantly forcing me to play Mercy (even though I want to be Death Meriache) and attempt to salavae a win from your idiocracy. I'm looking at you, triple widowmakers.
The point to the game is that each team members strength covers anothers weakness. That's why team comp is so paramount. And thats why Overwatch is the only FPS I can stand. In any other FPS, your a cog in the machine. In Overwatch, you are an integral part of the team.
Ok, so before I start, Mei is OP one on one, Bastion is OP on choke points, Mcree's stun/FTH combos is OP, but you have to remember, they all have easily exploitable weaknesses. Bastion is a sitting duck, mei can't stop two people, Mcree is a glass cannon.
According to TV tropes you are a girl Jo here's the link http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/YMMV/NerfNow (BTW I have no idea of Jo's gender so don't judge me too hard if this was already confirmed or denied)
@Dave Warren: The way I hear it, lower skill levels are where bastion works best, and therefore those of us having trouble with him can reassure ourselves that he might eventually start to be less of a brick wall.
the thing is the entire pool of heroes are built around hero(ine) X counters hero(ine) Y. so they actually cannot nerf their pool of heroes without making the issues worse.
@Nalbudday: Then I just be in Scrublord tier, because my Attacker games on Anubis tend to be just getting chain killed and never breaking past the choke point, while my Defense games can hold Anubis all day long.
Anyone else get the inside joke that Mei is ice themed and her ulti is drone that makes an icestorm? No? .....another name for an ice storm is a blizzard, dummy.
If you treat Bastion like a TF2 sentry gun for a bit, then you realize he has most of the same weaknesses and strengths, and thus balanced unless you play W+M1, in which case natural selection says you deserve said death.
The deal with Mei is that she is quite powerful when smaller amount of people, and is far less effective if up against more than one person, thus helps to enforce Overwatch as a "team" game or simply shut down many flankers, despite that several of her best (not hard) counters are flankers.
Honestly most characters need nerfed. And no that doesn't mean they're balanced if they're all op. There is just so much that feels wrong when you play. Mei's ability to solo anyone, Junkrat's bombs exploding on contact after bouncing, Widowmaker body shots doing almost as much as headshots, etc etc
For Widow maybe reduce only the damage to bodyshots while critical hits remaining unchanged (long range kills is kinda the point on a sniper IMO), but a competent sniper would still be able to wipe whole teams
McCree is a monster in close range, but his lack of mobility makes him an easy target for more than two enemies and in high level play teams stick together.
@Dave Warren On temple of anubis in high level play, attacker winrate is between 50-60% for average players, and it's widely considered one of the harder maps for offense. For 'competitive' players attacking winrate across all maps hovers around 70% average. Defense needs an EASIER time on some maps
Personally I think the biggest nerf needed is to give Attackers a second entry point and not force them to use a single choke point of entry. Defense has it too easy IMHO. Bastion is only strong because he can hold a single choke point easily.
@Lukáš Horňák: I seem to recall a twitter post saying they like having the stun on him because it helps with countering some ults, like Reaper's DIE DIE DIE.
