@Tyler Wang: Not sure where you see that in the YMMV page, I see "he" used throughout the page. The only she/her I see on the page is referring to Angie, not Jo. But who knows, it could have been recently edited.
@Logan Grimnar: ARTS works best because of how the term has similarities to how RPG and ARPG work. Games like LoL or Dota are action games with RTS elements (base defense, map control, securing resources and building up)
@Maxime Patenaude-Tarissan: well honestly, Dota 2 isn't a moba, that's a name league came up with. Gabe uses the term arts (action real time strategy). But a more accurate term is farts (fortress assault real time strategy) or ASSFAGGOTS (look it up)
I don't personally have a problem with Overwatch - I don't really care about it either. I'm not the target audience - it's all pvp and fps. Not my thing. I'll stick to TOR and STO.
While I definitely agree with OW being overhyped to no end, here's some of my thoughts on the matter http://orig15.deviantart.net/1be3/f/2016/176/0/9/overwatch__the_flavor_of_the_month_by_countaile-da7nz6t.png
If someone doesn't like OW - let's just wait around, there's always the next big thing.
@Tyler Wang: Last time I checked, Jo was just a shortened form of Josue, which is a male name. Unless Mr. Tentacles sexually identifies as an attack helicopter or something.
@Maxime Patenaude-Tarissan: Words change over time, but using that as an excuse to appropriate existing terms and definitions and conveniently change them to mean whatever you feel like they should mean isn't how it works.
@Сергей Безфамилии: difinately each to their own. Also did you know that according to tvtropes Jo is a female?http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/YMMV/NerfNow here's the link to prove it.
@Wojciech Makowski: I don't think so, man... i thought maybe that was the case but, at least in this view of the model, it doesn't seem to be due to his clothes:

It was most likely an oversight from Blizzard, in my opinion.
@Tyler Wang: Just to clarify, I didn't compare OW to any moba. Since Jo is quite a gamer and he's clearly fond of dota(2), I've naturally assumed that he could be interested in a game similar to dota(2) in one way or another. He isn't though, and I'm cool with that, I guess. :) To each their own.
@Censuur: Strictly speaking, I don't aim to be anyone. It's my opinion, and I'm aware that personal opinions are frowned upon on the internet. :) Anyway, OW sucks hard for me, and blizz-fanboying is not my lifestyle.
@What The Hell: then by that logic tf2, unreal tournament, and quake 3 arena are mobas. Besides if there's one thing that we should all agree on it's that moba is a very vague term.
@censuur
Except in the english language, terms and theire meaning evolves. The term "moba" isint an acronym anymore and has evolved into a proper noun that is synonymous with games like dota and league of legend. Languages arent static, they change over time.
@Tyler Wang: You do realize the definition of "moba" is "multiplayer online battle arena" right? RPG elements have absolutely fuck all to do with it. Overwatch is a moba.
No that's the forty-seventh clause that only applies in a case where you're holding a conversation with someone who keeps getting mowed down by Bastion at spawn point.
Mobas need at least some rpg mechanics like leveling up and buying items from gold that boosts your stats. Not to mention overwatch plays like a fps. None of its modes are like what you'd find in a true moba like Dota or league.
Junkrat's probably the character that benefits the absolute most from infinite ammo. He's a demoman that can continuously shit explosives down a hall for eternity, it's nuts.
Why do people compare overwatch to games like Dota or battleborn? It is not a moba, there is no leveling up or buying items. Just because it has characters with skills doesn't make it a moba. Otherwise dirty bomb and rainbow6 siege would also be mobas.
@Сергей Безфамилии: A modern Blizzard game is overrated as fuck? Wow son, you don't say! Trying rather hard for that promotion to captain obvious aren't you? ;)
Overwatch is overrated AF for my taste, I dunno. Didn't click with me. /shrug
Strange that nobody mentioned Epic's Paragon... but of course, it's still a closed alpha (until Aug.16, that is). Doesn't stop me from enjoying it though.
