I bought Rabi-Ribi because I expected some cheap fanservice. But there wasn't a lot of that to my suprise and instead I got the best Metroidvania I have ever played. I didn't think this game would be one of my game-of-the-year games.
@Alex V. Sharp: I can understand wanting more of something you enjoy but it sounded like you limited yourself instead. Anyway if you are on an anthropomorphic only diet I got Freedomplanet and it is the Sonic game I wish Sega would make. Sorcerland looks good too.
Have you tried Bunny Must Die: Chelsea and the Seven Devils? It's on steam and a pretty good weeb metroidvania. You get time powers and can't even walk right until you pick up the item.
This game is one of the best, if not THE best, non-linear platformers I've played in a while. You can explore where you want if you're good enough, fight bosses out of sequence, and even do a 0% item run from start to finish. it is hard due to some platforming and danmaku battles, but it's fun.
@Obaid B.: I don't quite get it either, but that doesn't stop me from saying "awwww!" when I see Vanilla, Chocolate, or the bear twins. I guess it's one of those subconscious moe things Japan loves to strive for.
Love people who complain you aren't playing a 'real' game - what IS a real game? Do you enjoy it? Are there levels? Then piss off - it's a 'real' game.
And, just a note here, weaboo doesn't really apply here because tentajo isn't trying to be Japanese. He just likes bunny girls.
Look at it this way: At least there are sooo many anime-like games, and available in all sorts of genres. The last "serious" RPG where I could lead a whole furry cast of adventurers was Wizardry 8 from 2001, and the last "really good" game featuring an only-anthropomorphic cast was Dust:ET... :/
@Dave Warren: Weeabo is necessarily bad, it just gets misused where it doesn't apply. Weeabo is a derogatory term for someone obsessed with Japanese culture to the point of wishing to be Japanese. Liking things from Japan is nothing to do with being a Weeabo.
