and marvel has not been "fucking the origins" they have been copying every major storyline they fucking can but because they barely have any heroes it's all water down crap.
they need to be all original. it's a different medium.
Hands down the best marvel movies by a long shot are the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
They're leagues better then the other ones but the new thor actually makes me want to see it.
I have waited nearly 20 fucking years for a justice league film. I'm so mad.
Still, BvS was better then the shit that was "civil war" uhhhg, why did they even try to copy that story line. and the best part of age of ultron was the hammer jokes.
The problem's less the grimdark, hell 40k still has it's following, but the terrible writing drags it down, trying to turn Lex Luthor into the joker and, well, the Angry Joe/Nostalgia Critic review's all the anyliz. No matter how good your work is, enough C.S. Gotos will ruin the project in the end.
@KingSlacker Grabovski: The multiverse was already canon in the comics way before the MCU Doctor Strange. In fact, it goes as far up as the Omniverse, which contains every story ever created ever- from bad fanfic lemons about Spongebob to a real Nerf Now universe.
@Type99: Okay, see, but the problem with the new Luthor was that it was a fucking awful performance that was physically painful for me to watch clips of. I can only imagine how awful it was to watch the whole fucking movie.
@Raxyz: What? Your Marvel Cinematic Universe is evolving! It turned into a Marvel Cinematic Multiverse! Thanks, Doctor Strange, for making all of the Marvel fanfiction canon. We didn't need that. However, it does mean that the comics and the movies are canon at the same time. Thanks again, Strange.
DC movies has one thing going for them: Visuals. Otherwise, it's a complete mess. Either you commit and do a 100% adapatation from another story. (None of them involved Batman killing or daydreaming) or you go full Marvel and fuck the origins, just do whatever.
Halfsies isn't enjoyable to most...
@Type99: it may not be accurate but the fights there were at least good and actually intense, drawn out well. there was also a good and proper reason for them to actually fight against each other that was more believable.
Luther being a bad character was only a part of the problem.
Both Batman and Superman killing.
The dark nature of the movie.
Large cities with low populations.
The five dream sequences setting up Justice League.
I could go on but there is a character lim
@Type99: What, so we can't criticize the way they've tried to represent a old character?
If it was well done it would be no problem, but the way they portrayed him in the film is just stupid. I haven't ever said that they shouldn't try to do something new, just that the character was bad IMO.
Besides, everyone is praising Marvel and bashing DC when Civil War was a complete slap in the face to every comic fan, portraying a cat fight between iron man and cpt america instead of what civil war actually is about...
Also, the piss jar.
Yes, it makes sense in context.
But the idea of "genius billionaire" Lex Luthor urinating in a jar like a grinning idiot, just to troll one senator, who he's going to kill anyway, just feels weird to me.
So the best way to introduce a "new" Lex is to make him a gibbering idiot who thinks the best way to beat an "evil god" is to essentially create Satan.
(Although, I did like the god is not good speech. But it still felt more like a stopped clock being right twice a day than actual rationality.)
Problem with DC is that heroes like flash and superman, kinda got absolute power, and nothing can top that (basicly god mode). So they had to give them (an absurd) weakpoint, in this case their mother, lol.
But damn Jo, dem amount of spoiler in this ark!! XD
Ok, the "new luthor" argument is as flawed as the "new joker" one from suicide squad. They wanted to represent the character in a new way, which is bold and admirable, instead of bringing out the usual stuff. If you guys never want to see something new just stick to your '80s comics and rot in there
I agree, but also, one of the worst aspects by far on this flaw-filled movie, in my opinion, is that stupid Lex Luthor... it looks like they've tried too hard to make him into a Joker wannabe, but failed at it, so he's just annoying.
@DINOSAUR CLAWS: except there's no indication that martha was superman's mom. hell, she could have been his wife, or maybe have no relation at all to superman.
its fucking stupid for batman, the hero who is intelligent and investigates a lot, wouldnt try to check if superman was really bad.
Batman is Batman because his parents got killed. When he was about to kill Superman, he was about to kill Superman's mother as well. He realizes he's doing the same thing as that mugger did when he was a kid.
It's why the movie started with the death of Batman's parents.
@zelemor
But Clark could've easily expressed that as "Save my mom, you have to save my mom." or something similar. Not just screaming a common female name and hoping Lois is there to explain the meaning.
Considering that they had no real reason to fight by batman seeing superman not as something completely alien to him but as a person who also has a mother and cares about her in his final moments batman realized that he has misjudged superman and so the whole misunderstanding was resolved.
Well Hollywood movie writers tend to be bad, and I've noticed a trend that they (and their directors) want to put "their stamp" on a story. Instead of handling the material with respect. It's why the DC Animated Movies also knock the live action junk into the trash.
I did just watch the whole story of the first Injustice game on youtube. Was really worth the watch. Quite entertaining. Will do the same for Injustice 2.
