With Goku, he's more likely to think that 23 is the quantity, not the item number. At the rate the franchise is going, it could also be yet another Android number.

I see the obvious complaint people could have about Goku/SSGoku being separate (apparently?), but Kid Goku would need an entire separate model for his body. And Black... weeell he's not really *Goku* so much as Zamasu...

@tom641: Hit's arc was done by episode 50, and Goku Black's arc was done by episode 75(out of the current 125), so they made sure to not include anything from the ongoing arc yet.

I'd also like to have 21's human form as a playable character, but that's mostly because I don't like the look of her Buu-like form.
(Or any Buu form, really. I don't know but most female Buus just don't look that appealing to me.)

The only "missing" characters in my opinion are:
Dabura (who I've already mentioned)
Zarbon and Dodoria (either separate or as a team) and
19 and 20/Gero (although that might mess up the story, all things considered)

They managed to make a pretty good roster. I'm at least very happy with it, as it has good variation and a lot of the fighters are pretty fun to play. I'm excited for what direction the DLC will take. Hope it's some ToP characters. (Caulifla)

@tom641: They made the roster around the Goku Black saga, so Hit had already had one fight at that point. At the same time, they included attacks from one of his later fights. So it all depends on when they decided the DLC roster. If they include non canon characters, then Broly is guaranteed.

Like yeah, Broly is probably one of the biggest "misses" but he's not canon and will probably be DLC anyway, and anyone like Jiren is probably too new to be heavily considered. (Granted, i don't know how new Hit is because i don't follow Super, so maybe i'm full of it) 2/2/)

Honestly for a base roster FighterZ is pretty well off, I can't think of any obvious "must have no matter what" types of characters they missed. People will inevitably say "Oh they should've had X Y and Z!!!" but most of those will be non-canon characters and/or minor characters. [1/2]

I just want a DBZ fighting game with literally every DB-DBZ-DBGT-DBS-DBMovies character ever, no matter how lame or dumb they are. THAT would be AWESOME

That list also applies to Xenoverse 2, Fusions and any other present or future Dragon Ball game.
(Also Chronoa/Supreme Kai of Time, but I'm not sure how she'll fit into the FighterZ roster.)

Dragon Ball games will never have a roster anywhere close that achieved with Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Because of that some will remain unhappy about the "size" of the roster no matter how much QUALITY goes into each 24 current DBFz (and the coming DLCs).

Fun fact: Yamcha is actually top tier and so is his assist lol

The previous games didn't have 100's of characters. THey had dozens and dozens of copy pasted move sets.

Here we have 24 or so solid combatants with future ones incoming which will have their own styles as well.

I think they have like 9 DLC characters planned. It's worth it though with how much detail there is per-character.
