I'm unsure if there is any advantage to picking this or that armor for your palico since they don't seen able to actually die in combat. Sure they can be knocked out but they just come back to life after a while.

Some people pick the Palico weapon because of the status effects like paralysis but for armor as far as I know it's purely for looks.
