My favourite MTG card of all-time ever: Scalpalexis, a 1/5 flying creature that, if it dealt combat damage to the opponent, they would remove the top 4 cards from their deck from the GAME entirely. If any were duplicates (including lands!), the cycle would repeat until no duplicates were milled.
Well, Jo making the comic 90% about card games is better than 90% MOBA's I guess, even If I neither care for nor understand the context of either. Still, it's not my comic, so it's not up to me. I won't whine about it like some comments tend to do :p
I used to play Black Blue Dimir... Oh the joy of Lazav Dimir Mastermind copying all sorts of fun and powerful cards while being hexproof so no cheap removal dealing with that.
Eh, could be worse. Try playing my Random Insanity deck. Its mono red with artifact support that utilizes every non-parody coin flip, dice roll, random draw, etc card possible
Those little tokens... that are also Green? (Elves, Saprolings, etc.)
I don't think anything except Eldrazi Spawn (any-color spells, colorless tokens, Rise of the Eldrazi-exclusive) have anywhere near the ability to reproduce as Green spawners. Maybe Goblins.
Worried about removal? Carnage Tyrant: 4GG, Hexproof, Trample. This spell cannot be countered. Worried about tokens? Splash RED, and cast Raging Swordtooth, Raging Regisaur, or even Fight With Fire. I wonder what Ravnica will do for the Gruul Clan, will it be Bloodthirst or Bloodrush?
Low key one of my favorite comic jokes you've made so far joe. 10/10 I don't even play magic but that last panel can apply to so many other turn based games.
Eh, scrub. You've never played until you run Colorless Mono-Steel (all artifacts and lands, originally called 'Mono-Brown' due to the old card frames, but those haven't been brown since 2003ish).
Very similar to my experience with Yu-Gi-Oh, at first it was fun making all these neat decks and trying them out in tourneys, but when you get down to it the 1-200 dollar cookie cutter will beat you without a sweat.
