I don't think that's true actually. It's just that there's less stigma associated with sexual content these days so they appear in all listings, not specifically sexual stuff.

Tommy Lantern yes, but what kind of anime you can remember after 2010>? I can really tell that there was no great masterpiece yet. Even popular titles like OPM or AoT are good at best. And if we returning back to 80-90-00 era, there is like tons of good (or even masterpiece) anime of all genres

while there is probably more just because the industry has gotten bigger, it's more like people only remember the high points of older anime. The random "let's do fanservicey pantsu/convenient censoring because we want to make porn but can't commit" stuff just gets forgotten by time.

None of that is new. And equally, sometimes awful, sometimes decent (taste may vary) From old school Golden Boy to more recent Keijo. From the forgettable devil hunter yohko (or demon fighter kocho), to asterisk war or blessing of einhar. Ranma to prison school. Things change, but stay the same.

There are some more on Gunsmith cats than the 3 OVAs? I remember them with little clothes on (undies only in some scenes) but I can´t remember of sex scenes on them. A lot of bloody yes....

you probably find them Meh because almost all of those will play them fairly "safe" going nearly Beat for beat on the originating animes formula. kinda like how some genres of music have most of their Top 100 songs using the same chords with slightly different rhythms

Yeah, I don't really understand the gratuitous fan service in shows that otherwise have nothing to do with sex. For example, there is no reason for the obsession with panties in A Certain Scientific Railgun (an excellent anime, btw - great character and story-building).

Mask of Zeguay(?), two parts. first part had zero fan service. second part had a nude bath scene and she ripped up her long skirt to tie it around her lower legs and forearms. *shrugs* it was a decent old anime. good art style and fun story. another one that could have had more adventures.
