Guilty Gear: Strive has been popular since it released. Tekken hasn't been generating buzz for years. DBFZ has recently generated some interest because of the massive changes brought some players back. KoF 15 is drawing a lot of interest, but not released. MK11 is dead, MK12 talk is already started.
I didn't get at first, been ages since I played Guilty Gear(I think), but I agree its the give and take not everyone will get every joke for a huge market like videogames. Another comic (Awkward zombie) was doing a bunch on a game I didn't know but turned out was well known to others *Control*.
Most popular non-smash fighter owuld be tekken, and after that I'd put Mortal Kombat & maybe DBFZ too, before Guilty Gear.
But the comic's title is about "Totsugeki", and I can understand the ref by googling it, pretty fast.
@Andy Willow This is a video game comic, meaning ALL video games(that Jo plays). So not everyone is going to get EVERY gag. I do agree that the joke could be a LITTLE bit more accessible.
Again. Just gonna put it out there. Jokes that are gonna fly people's heads, because they don't play weeb fighting games don't really work for a gag-a-day comic.
