I'll just repost what I put on my Twitter here.

OW2 feels kind of empty and less chaotic. It's hard to do any flanking because the players quickly notice anyone missing, and the frontline can't really afford 1 less player. You have an optimal script (follow the tank, move as one), and whoever executes that script better wins.

The game doesn't prevent you from doing any wacky stuff, but it feels unrewarding unless the whole team jumps into it.

But who knows, some people may enjoy the more "orderly" game where 2 full squads face each other in an orderly, predictable fashion.
