Elite Dangerous also should be mentioned... back when it was actually developed and not in the messy state it is in now, it was quite good. Doubt about now tho.

With the latest Starfield showcase, I'd say that game looks rather promising as far as aesthetics and mechanics are concerned, but the proof is, as always, going to be in the pudding. No matter how great the vertical slice might look, if it will come out as a buggy, laggy, repetitive mess.

Starfield? Honestly I have LOW expectations for the game. It could be amazing. Bethesda needs it to be amazing. But Bethsda Games Studio has been dropping the ball for 2 releases now. Lets see if Skyrim is the last good game BGS ever makes.

Star Citizen is a cash cow shamelessly milking whales. They won't ever come out of beta because it would ruin their current monetization. No Man's Sky over promised and has done a lot to try and deliver since release. But... the base game loop sucks. EVE is a PvP MMO. Nuff said.

I mean, the only reason NMS didn't promise to cure cancer is that no-one asked Sean Murray that I guess. I bet he'd have said yes

Ehh, the core gameplay loop, which is planetary exploration is meh in NMS, but I did enjoy actual space flight and combat in your ship. If only there was some game where I could do ONLY that....something Elite. Something Dangerous...

I mean...the real punchline is EVE Online, let's be real here
