OW also had the problem of forcing players to master multiple different roles, because if you tried to specialize you could easily be hard countered. I only enjoyed playing as a few of the characters and none of them were meta, so it was not the game for me.

Tanks, Healers and trapping where for n00bs/old school guilds who wanted to waste time with mechanics. A few top guilds focused on just brute forcing their way to greater epics. Then the elites/casuals with 15 minutes a night to raid became the core player base.
You mean if the entire enemy team focus fires someone in a FPS game you can't heal them through that? I think it would be more of a problem if a healer could keep them up!
