I am both guessing and hoping that you are referring to Cave Story. It seems like something you'd be bound to make a comic about due to it's quirky characters, great soundtrack and the fact that it has an easily sexualized female character or two.

Lol. While most of the titles on autumn sale didn't appeal to me, the good thing I got out of it was SECOND FUCKING SIGHT, found by browsing around the various publishers shown on main page. Loved that game on GC, and man, it's awesome it got ported. A nice surprise, and only 3$.
