Blizzard punishes any gameplay that's outside of their intended zone and I happen to be the creative type that likes sandbox and lots of mods, my options. We're not meant to be together.

One of the things I appreciate form the the WoW dev team, is the fact that gear is necessary in order to survive, BUT IT IS NOT EVERYTHING, u need strategy to beat the game.
Demetrio
And despite what msot people thinks, Inferno is not hard, why? because everything depends on gear, the difference, is that gearing up there is a lot harder, IMO, increasing monsters power is the easy and most ridiculous way of putting difficulty in a game.

@Cubey: not just that... the Point is, as Jo said, The system of D3 was created to be dynamic, fun and avoid cookie cutters, but the devs wants u to play in a very specific way, D3 is a dungeon crawler, as so, it should allow u all the fun of exploring a dungeon, nerfing dungeon contents ruins that.

@Sean: Good for you!
Now do it again now that they have nerfed attack speed and such so that you can't build as much or in many cases near enough leech or defense back for survival.
It's all well and good you brag about what you did, the problem is what 'is' now.

The game is completely gear based. All classes are more then capable. Inferno is just extremely hard untill you have the gear. What people that die horribly a million time dont realize is everyone not ultra rich did the same thing. Ive beaten Diablo on Inferno on a Monk and a Witch Doctor.

Not sure why people keep bad mouthing DIII. It has it's issues, as any game does. DII was considered such an amazing game, and when I play DIII, all I can think is how much more awesome and fun it is compared to DII. I don't think I've played anything else for more then 30 mins since this came out.

The amazing thing my friend told me that inferno wasn't supposed to be finished for months. However, bugged skills + auction house items ruined the intended scale of the game.
Crysalim

Lots of people at Blizzard do not play the games they work on, such as a Starcraft player helping on WoW or Diablo. You also get tons of free stuff, such as in game codes and free copies of games to give to friends.
Crysalim
...and it was decided that Inferno was "hard enough" for normal people. Then Blizzard tripled the difficulty. This new setting was not playtested at ALL.
More interesting facts - many people who worked on D3 did not play the game. These include the menu designers and the network coders
Crysalim
Yay, the fact that I know someone who works at Blizzard finally comes in handy.
Inferno was not actually playtested in its current iteration. It was approximately 3x as weak (slightly harder than hell). Amazingly, the internal testers found this difficult...

What? They just changed this patch making every champion/elite pack drop an EXTRA rare when you have 5 stack of nephalem valor. They want you to go out and just kill stuff in order to get loot, and not run the same boss countless times, or farm vases.

It was in a blue post that said that blizzard wasn't able to beat inferno.
Also, @njdss4: you forgot "At least half of the players are either intoxicated, 12, or about as smart as a 12-year-old". Some of the nerfs seemed weird, but I feel like cheaper crafting and the enemy nerfs made up for them. As for the container thing, I think they meant full MF gear to be a handicap you took for better loot, so having it make farming containers viable was accidental and against their intentions.

Mortar and Invulnerable minions was a called nerd too. those were 2 affixes that always called for a WTF I DIED swearing and a following reset. Atk speed nerf is a bit harsh but we can live with it, repair cost nerf is against zergdeath (which will happen a lot less with the elite damage nerf)

Some nerfs were called for, namely inferno and drop nerfs. Damage bonuses to elites made ppl never using def skills (except energy armor with force rune) because even stacking max def skills they get oneshotted anyway. And ppl farming pots, barrels and such was surely an unintended way to play.
