The tower are completely useless at protecting you unless the enemy is at low health, and you aren't, or you are all at low levels. And depending on the champ, it is easy to destroy a tower before lvl 6.

As a LoL veteran playing my first game of DOTA 2 pretty much went the same way. A tower in LoL kills you in 3 hits, in DOTA 2 it barely tickles you. It went from "tower hugging" to "run for your life (and gold)"

Only noobs needs a tower to protect them against heroes. That's why towers in LoL are so strong, because the game is full of casual noobs that must have a safe spot to not be killed.

Outsmarting the enemy is 99% of what you need to win a dota match. The last 1% comes from skill.
