last but not least
-Activision
Lots of mistakes. Also the Pre-Sequel's right on the corner. Destined to fail
They promised so much shit, and delivered a Halo-themed Borderlands. Of course people are mad. Destiny itself isn't a bad game, but it's terribly managed.
Unrelated to the comic, Jo, I sent you a friend invite on Steam, but since my name there is "the last of the whales"--to make people feel guilty when they kill me :p--you wouldn't have recognized it. Up to you whether you want to accept--if so, I'm always up for TF2 or Dota 2 matches.
Nobody has been able to confirm the actual cost of Destiny development. Sorry to burst your '400 million on ads' bubble. Even the 500 million number bantered is from an analyst for for all their worth isn't being confirmed by Bungie or Activision. So the game will be profitable no doubt...

Dr. Horrible?
Also, I didn't even knew this "Destiny" existed. Been living under Wasteland 2 the past weeks.
@TacoMan: Hehe, I wonder how many people get that reference.

@Narf: Missing the point, when they flog 400 million on ads instead of game development and only 100 million in contrast for an MMO you have a serious problem.
For a comparison FFXIV-2 in total had around 400 million in development costs.

@KillerXzow: TF2 is exactly only that: multiplayer PvP. Not everybody enjoys PvP, but would rather just do Storymode and Raid PvE, optionally together with friends. Destiny was supposed to also cover those areas. It does, but does so rather poorly.
Despite the low quality, it still got Bungie and Sony a ton of money. But not Microsoft. Because most console gamers think they're the devil for some reason.

@Verteros: The reason for the hype was never the budget or the money spent on ads. The reason was Bungie being the developer. Many people held them in very high esteem for the Halo games.

Destiny didn't live up to the hype? With a 500 million dollar budget and 400 million flogged on advertisements? Say it is not true.
Never believe hype without a fully playable demonstration that touches all key points. Week(end) long "demo betas" don't count. Also stop the pre-orders based on game-un-played hype.
What is the porn site Photo Note about? Oo
I mean, I'm definitely not against it but I don't get the context. oô

Sadly, it really is THAT bad. Except for visuals, those are great. But the rest is just one giant shit-show. Itemization, balancing, class variety and feel, socializing, storytelling, voice acting, map variety... there's not a single other category out there this game is good at.
